Franco Rocco is an architect, a designer and a sculptor. He graduated from the politecnico of Milan with a thesis on town planning in 1969. In his initial works on architectural design, restoration projects and interior design he defined his original approach to the aesthetic of form, which he later defined as "La Via Geometrica". This approach, which recovers rules and methods of classical art, consists in the use of precise, mutually and modularly harmonic geometric proportions in the creation of his works. In this rigorous framework, he creates abstract sculptures of great ideal tension, rich in complex and sophisticated symbolic meanings. The observer is drawn to the works by their innovation, immediacy and accessibility. His sculptures are the fruit of a painstaking and dedicated search for consistency between the form and functionality of materials and for a participative and collaborative rapport between the sculptor, his work and the public, whereby the observer is invited to make a personal and creative contribution to the artwork. |
